Miami Marlins To Install Synthetic Turf

Recently, the Miami Marlins announced their plans to reduce the right-center field and center field dimensions and will be installing synthetic turf. In the Marlin’s last baseball season, their ball field had a straightaway that was 407 feet (0.12 km) away from the home base. This year, in 2020, the new dimensions are expected to be 400 feet (0.12 km). The right-center area is expected to be diminished from 392 feet (0.12 km) to 387 feet (0.12 km). Derek Jeter said that while enhancing the active surface of the park, all measurements of the ballpark were evaluated.
